Accessible Hike
This accessible hike is led by Topher Downham, who works for the city of Boulder and also uses a wheelchair. He is an expert on accessible trails in the Boulder area, and will be taking us on an early-morning accessible hike through a beautiful forest trail with an amazing view of the peaks at the top.
The trail we will be hiking on is known as the Ute Trail or Sensory Trail on Flagstaff Mountain. We plan to meet at the parking lot at Artist Point. Accessible bathrooms are available.
This will also be a socially distanced hike, so please bring your masks (we can also provide masks).
To bring:
- Water
- Snacks
- Hat
- Mask

This is a great idea, and something I had considered doing before COVID. However, I didn’t think it was safe for people to get into a van together at this time.
This is a maybe .. depends on the day and how the morning goes.. however, what I would really love is a conference call/ informational meeting about where to go in the state of colorado for wheelchairs ..I have done some research but I am still leery of taking a chance on a trail I have no idea what it would be like for me to take my daughter on.. especially in the rocky mountain national park… A lecture would be awesome – and for beginners (and getting on with years person) …
