
Care Training Course (Saturday)
Learn how to provide care for individuals living with spinal cord or brain injuries.
Craig Hospital is offering a free 1.5-day course for community members or agency employees who are interested in working with individuals living with spinal cord or brain injuries. Care partners (caregivers) will learn practical skills and foundational knowledge through a mix of online learning and hands-on practice. Upon completion of the course, care partners will receive a Craig Hospital Certificate of Completion, printed course booklet and access to online resources.
WHAT’S COVERED?
+ Understanding spinal cord and brain injuries
+ Defining the role and scope of a care partner
+ Practicing safe transfer techniques, proper body mechanics and injury prevention
+ Respiratory care to support breathing and lung health
+ Bladder and bowel management techniques
+ Maintaining skin integrity
+ Safe wheelchair positioning
HOW TO SIGN UP
