Jess Andrews, MSW, LCSW
(She/Her/Hers)

Jess Andrews, Licensed Clinical Social worker (LCSW, she/her/hers) has been working in the clinical field since 2020 and is passionate about supporting youth and adults in deepening self-understanding, cultivating self-love, healing from past experiences, and working toward personal happiness. At the root of her work is a strong commitment to helping clients navigate and challenge systems of oppression and cultivate meaningful, fulfilling lives.

Jess earned her Master of Social Work from the University of Denver in Colorado, where she focused on Organizational Leadership, Policy, and Practice, as well as Human-Animal-Environment Interactions. She also holds undergraduate degrees in Social Work and English from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.

Her clinical background includes working with a wide range of clients across diverse settings. Jess has supported youth in schools and residential treatment programs, as well as adults in educational settings, group homes, and correctional environments.

Jess’ approach to therapy centers on the power of authentic relationships and creating a space where individuals feel safe to be themselves. Jess identifies as Queer, and emphasizes the importance of self-exploration, self-acceptance, and self-love in her work.

She takes a client-centered, humanistic approach grounded in the belief that each individual is the expert and author of their own story. Jess integrates a wide range of therapeutic modalities as relevant to meet clients where they are, which includes but is not limited to:

  • Play therapy
  • Art therapy
  • Psychodynamic Therapy
  • Bibliotherapy
  • Parts work
  • Eye Movement and Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR)
  • Existential therapy
  • Somatic therapy
  • Gender-affirming therapy

Jess also works alongside her animal therapist companions, offering opportunities for positive therapeutic experiences that highlight the healing power of bonds that transcend species.

Outside of her professional work, Jess enjoys spending time caring for her many animals—her several cats and two dogs Loki, Hermes, Calypso, Veto, Mnemosyne, Bastet, Delphi, and Zephyr. She also loves playing games and exploring Colorado’s trails with loved ones, and taking advantage of everything else the state has to offer.
